Boyan Savov has made his 40-year professional career working for state authorities, as a freelance consultant, and with leading contractors in marine construction and dredging. Mr. Savov is a graduate of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria, with degree in Hydraulic Engineering. He is also a UNESCO-IHE alumnus from Delft, the Netherlands. Boyan Savov’s professional expertise in marine construction and environment ranges from research through design to execution and monitoring. Over the last twenty years Mr. Savov has participated at a senior level in a considerable number of European projects in coastal engineering, coastal environment and port development, ranging in size from small to multimillion. Throughout his career he has committed himself to bridging the gap between theory and practice. In this respect, for the last fourteen years, he has also made valuable contributions to training M.Sc. students and trainees and acted as Examiner on the M.Sc. Programme in Coastal Engineering at Delft University of Technology.

Monitoring and Training
Since 2002 core staff of B.V.S. Consult has been involved in practical training of M.Sc. students from TU-Delft. Extensive monitoring has been done at certain stretches of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. The tasks performed include:

More than 300 students from 18 nationalities have participated in this training course. All of the participants have very successful professional careers and many of them work internationally.
